Insurance Programme

For the welfare of the partners, KSSS introduced two insurance schemes.

Medical Insurance Programme

The main objective of the scheme is to protect the poor people who are living in the rural areas of Kothamangalam Diocese Various diseases and accidents are covered under this scheme. It is a one year family medical insurance programme launched with the support of New India Assurance Company, United India Insurance company and National Insurance Company. KSSS has been running this programme since 1990 and thousands of poor people enjoy the benefits of this scheme. From 2005-06 KSSS decided to implement this programme through various Credit Unions.

Cattle Insurance programmes

Cow rearing is one of the main activities and sources of income to the rural people in our operational area. Usually these farmers buy cows with loans and they cannot repay the loan inspite of their best effort, either due to the death or disease of their cows. To help these farmers KSSS implements cattle insurance programme with the support of new India Assurance Company. If any insured cow dies the company will give full-insured amount and if any loss or accident occurs they will give 50% of insured amount. Since the beginning of this programme thousands of farmers are enjoying the benefits of this programme.
