Credit Unions (People's Organizations)
The formation and strengthening of people's organization is one of the key aspects of Kothamangalam Social Service Society (KSSS). Credit Union has been functioning in the operational area of KSSS ever since 1992. At present there are 61 Credit unions with membership ranging from 50 to 250 in each unit. Each unit is a collections entity of self-help groups from ward level. This being a people's organization, the office bearers are democratically elected by the people themselves. Currently more than 12000 families are members of Credit Union. For better functioning, the Credit Unions, are federated under 6 regions.
